Apothic Red Winemaker’s Blend – from the wine virgin

Apothic Red Winemaker’s Blend was one of the first blends I have ever tried at a tasting. It was a blend of Syrah/Merlot/Zinfandel. This was quite a pleasant wine for one of the first blends I have tasted at the shop. The smell was very distinctive. It was a sweet, vanilla scent that had a hint of chocolate and possibly black cherry. It smelled very smooth and was matched the same in taste.

Apothic Red was an incredibly smooth wine. The vanilla was also in the taste a bit, but not nearly as obvious as in the scent. The black cherry flavor popped out more once my taste buds got ahold of the wine. One interesting thing I noticed about this red wine was the absence of pepper
