Musar Cuvee Rouge (Lebanon) – from the wine virgin

The Musar Cuvee Rouge is from Lebanon and was one of the more interesting wines of the night. It was a very fruity wine with a small hint of spice. The berry was not as deep or pronounced as the previous wine, but there was a bit of an earthy taste.

The one thing that stood out a lot about this wine was the acidity. It made the mouth pucker. And the finish was also very intriguing – it had a minty and cocoa taste. I was told that this could be due to the limestone soil in which the grapes are grown in. Overall, the combination of different flavors – mint/cocoa/earthy/berry – made this wine definitely one of the more interesting wines of the night.
