(February) 2011 Friday Night Programs

We’re still working on the list for the year and looking at how we can best serve you, our customers best on Friday Night’s Programming.  I’m always eager to hear your ideas for a program and ways to change and present things better for your use.

Syrah Grapes

Syrah Grapes

Here’s what we have lined up for February so far…

February 4th: Syrah. one of Christopher’s personal favorite grapes for wine (he only has 12,000 or so favorites!) We will try the various styles from shiraz to old world to new world wines made from the syrah grape.

February 11: Chocolate & Wine. We will try a few different chocolate flavors along with a variety of wines to showcase how the flavors blend and meld upon the taste buds!

February 18: It’s weird, really weird grapes that you may not have ever heard of before. Every so often Christopher’s out hunting for strange grapes he’s never tried and always likes showcasing them to share with you and everyone else to expand the view we have for the world of 12,000 grapes!

February 25: Merlot. Back in the late 70’s and early 80’s California was making some nice Merlots and got recognition for “well balanced, nicely oaked wines”, true to the American mindset, they took that to mean a little oak was nice, a lot of oak will be great and ruined a perfectly nice wine. And then the movie “Sideways” came out and Merlot was put on the path to the least favorite wine in America. However, there are some quite nice merlots out there and hopefully we can get together on this Friday Night and explore what we do like about this little grape!

So there, you have a reason to be in down town Blowing Rock, NC every Friday night in February to visit us and head out to one of our favorite restaurants in town afterwards. Call us at 828-414-9111 to let us know you’re coming in!We look forward to seeing you soon!
