J. Lohr Valdiguié – The Wine Virgin

This was the first red wine paired for our meal. It was paired with our starter, which was mixed apple vinaigrette on a bed of mixed greens. I enjoyed this wine because it offered a nice complexity without being overpowering. The aroma was a deep fruit with a slight mineral smell. On the front of the tongue you had a sweet fresh cherry taste and as it moved to the back the flavor flattened out. The finish was very pleasant as well. The taste fleeted after you swallowed. Overall a very nice light wine that is great with a salad or starter.
